One month before:  Fill our building request form for:
      a) 4 long tables (on a nice day they are to be outside on the blacktop, on a rainy day they are to
be inside in the gym)
      b) Large trash cans

Talk to Darlene in the cafeteria and make sure she will have available the rolling cart that carries all
the trays. You will set the cookies up on these and have them ready for immediate placement on the
table.

Punch from McDonalds (two container of orange concentrate)
4 large igloos from McDonalds ($25.00) refundable deposit required for each igloo
Purchase enough instant presweetened iced tea from Aldi to make two large igloos full (10 gallons
total)
4 bags of ice

Lots and lots of plastic cups (check the PTSO supply or buy from B & W supply)
Napkins
Doilies
Table linens
(if you don't have enough for 4 long tables call Cornell Laundry and ask if they will loan
you some)
A
vase of fresh flowers from Michaleens (they usually make a donation of the flowers)

Three weeks before: get the flyer ready that goes home with the elementary students.
There is usually a copy available through the secretary at the district office.
Check the flyer and make sure dates and times are correct. Be sure that the flyer states that only
store bought cookies are to be donated for the event.

Two weeks before: Copy the flyer on the rizzo copying machine and put the copies in the teacher's
mailboxes at the elementary school

Day of the event
1) Get the coolers and punch from McDonalds
2) Get the flowers and linens
3) Get to school no later than 2pm with your help for a 4:30 event. Put doilies on the trays in the
kitchen and spread the cookies out on the trays. Make the punch and iced tea. Leave the extra in the
walk-in cooler in the kitchen.
4) Check that Building maintenance should have the tables and trash cans in the proper place.
5) Set the table with linens, cookies, and flowers and pour the punch and tea into the cups and have
ready to go on the tables with the cookies. Have the extra trays of cookies ready on the rolling rack to
replace the ones on the table, as they become empty.

After the event, consolidate the cookies onto as few trays as possible and take to the middle school
cafeteria for Meet The Candidates night. Also take the punch and iced tea, cups and napkins. The
igloos that are not being used can be cleaned and returned to McDonalds.

Be sure to take the table linen with you so it can be returned to Cornell Laundry the following day.
Building maintenance will take care of the tables and trash cans.

Go home and rest, you deserve it!
