A. Welcome and Call to Order: Kay Thomas, President
B. Officers Reports:
1. Secretary Report: Dorothy Debbie/Cathy Nelson – Approval of minutes tabled to look into corrections
2. Treasurer Report: none
3. Membership Report: Katrina Overton (via email) Members: Lifetime: 52; Five-Year: 73; Annual: 191; Total: 316
4. President's Report:
-Requests: a. Jessica Stratton, ES Art, requested $300 to frame 2 years worth of 4th grade self-portraits (from
2006 & 2007 classes) – sending back request for more information , e.g. will all be displayed or just subset
b. Wendy Wright, ES special education, named “2008 teacher liaison through space program”, requested any
amount to help defray costs for attending a week-long NASA workshop – sending back request for more information
– how many students will be impacted by improvements in space teaching she will bring back, just 2nd grade or
science club as well? Also concerns about setting precedent, will other teachers come to PTSO for travel money in
future.
-Passed out applications for Shared Decision Making Teams, meet once a month
-Sign up for next year’s board and as event coordinators
C. Old Business
1. MS Book Fair, March 18, 19 7:15- 3:00 p.m. – Donna Prybyl and Karen Phlegar – waiting on financials
2. MS 5th/6th grade Activity Night, March 28th, 7- 9 p.m. @ HS – Kay Thomas - ~130 kids attended
3. Changing Our Name – no new information available
D. New Business
1. April 25th, 7th & 8th grade Activity Night, 7-9 p.m. @ HS – Maureen Trowbridge, Tricia Thomas – need volunteers.
2. April 29th, Employee Appreciation Day –sign up to buy/bake food, need volunteers, no names in district bulletin
this year, instead put laurel or small ad in Ithaca Journal, considering making donation to charity in honor of the
district employees instead of buying small gift for employees.
3. May 6th & 7th, ES Book Fair – Dorothy Debbie, Susan Wakshlag – need volunteers
4. May 6th – Author luncheon – Kay Thomas – need volunteers
5. May 12th Meet the Candidates for BOE, 7:30 p.m. @ HS – Cathy Nelson – 3 positions open
6. Supply drive – Margaret Shackell-Dowell – donating school supplies to needy families at start of school year –
need volunteers

1. May 16th, 5th & 6th grade Activity Night, 7-9 p.m. @ the Rink? – June Losurdo
2. May and June – refreshments – May 15th Illusions reception, June 2nd Academic Awards, June 25th 8th grade

4. Kindergarten Community Nights – Margaret Shackell-Dowell – Every Wednesday during summer, 6-7:30 p.m. at
the Kindergarten playground, starting June 25th
