Minutes: from March 6th meeting passed with typo corrections made.
Treasurer Report: Checking-$28,264.82 and savings-$3,237.78. Trying to consolidate to using one
checking account.
Membership Report: 295 total members: 38 Lifetime, 60 Five-year, 197 annual members.
Scrip Report: (no report)
FYI: Women’s Community Building-April 27th. A County Youth Service coordinate panel to build
awareness and answer questions about underage drinking. Contact Sarah Hess 274-5310.
Special Business
*Kay Thomas will become President for 2006-2007 with Cathy Nelson helping.
*Amy Boardman will remain as Vice President of Elementary. In need of a co-vice president and book
fair coordinator.
Events
*Spaghetti Dinner profit was only $330. Discussion on continuing this event. We will continue with dinner
as a community service. Ticket price will remain the same.
*Project Informed Parent Presentations will be scheduled on an as needed basis, not on the calendar
for next year. Cathy will encourage the 5th grade team to continue orientation of 4th graders. If this is
declined, PTSO will help out.
*No Activity Nights are on the calendar due to scheduling issues. We will try to have them remain at The
Rink. There is no Sponsor as of yet, but will try to budget to keep Activity Nights at the Rink.
*Grandfriends Day will still be in discussion for next year.
*Tubing will continue, but may charge a little more ($15/person). Flyers will state how much you are
saving by purchasing through the PTSO.
Meeting Schedule: will be determined
Fundraising
*Cookie Dough will continue
*Booksox will be cancelled
*Scrip will continue with Donna and Tricia. They will add more marketing and maybe a schedule of
selling scrip. Terrisue will help.
Budget
The following motions were raised and passed:
*2005-2006 (current year) Employee Appreciation committee will have "thank you" theme. May send
seed packets with invitations, a newspaper ad, banners at all three schools and the possibility of lawn
signs coming down Ridge Rd.
A budget of up to $1000 was passed for the current year, 2005-2006, for banners and signs.
*$600/year to be used towards membership and insurance through PTOtoday.
*$500/year for accounting services of having a CPA to prepare tax returns.
*Miscellaneous amounts for 2006-2007.
Old Business
*PIP 5th grade- What’s it all about?- cancelled
*Elementary Book fair- went well, Profit not confirmed yet.
*Middle School Book fair- No report
*Bowling will be changed to an every other year event.
*7/8th grade Activity Night at the Rink now June 2nd
*5/6th grade Activity Night at the Rink now June 9th.
New Business
*Elementary School Book fair scheduled for May 16, 17 and 18th.
*Idea of sending a May bulletin to advertise sweatshirt/beanie sale. Both would be offered at PTSO
member prices.
*Idea of selling 3rd grade songs CD to 4th grade and chorus parents.
Next meeting: Tuesday, May 9th at 6p.m. in the High School Cafeteria.
