4. President's Report:
• HS Art Show – HS Dept. requested 33 dozen cookies (most were eaten), purchased from Tops
{Cafeteria had asked us to consider using them, but because of their contract rules, etc., they’re prices
are much higher than other sources.}
• Positions to Fill next year – Childcare, both Sept. Bookfairs, ES Picture Day, Employee Appreciation Day,
Bike Rodeo, Refreshments and PTSO PRESIDENT.
• Tricia Thomas will be PTSO Board liaison to the BOE meetings to report on the meetings.
C. Old Business
. MS Book Fair Report – Donna Prybyl and Karen Phlegar – (not attending) Kay reported that $900 of books and
took the rest of the profit to vouchers for magazines.
2. Changing Our Name Report – Cathy Nelson - Will continue researching in future.
3. May 15, Illusions Reception Report – Kay Thomas and Margaret Shackell- Dowell – Dottie Munson made cake, at
reasonable price; most was eaten.
4. After Prom Party Report – Anne Drake – Kay reported that donations this year were about the same as last year,
still working on final numbers. There were several complaints that the prizes were not given fairly. The committee
responded that the method of doing prizes is flawed and could give the perception of unfairness. Susan Mix has
agreed to chair the After Prom Party Committee. The committee will be advised that next year they need to provide a
list of prize winners before they will be reimbursed. Margaret Shackell-Dowell has offered to become the PTSO Board
liaison to the After Prom Party to provide reports to PTSO meetings on the progress of the committee.
5. June 2nd – Academic Awards Refreshments Report – Kay Thomas – Provided 33 dozen cookies which were all
eaten.
6. June 25th 3:30 p.m. 8th grade Moving Up Refreshments – VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
7. June 26th 1:00 p.m. 4th Grade Moving Up Refreshments - VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
8. June 27th 5:00 p.m. Graduation Refreshments - VOLUNTEERS NEEDED (80 dozen cookies)
9. Meet the Candidates – Although only 3 candidates for 3 seats, the event was well attended by –18—people,
including Superintendent Grimm.
Misc Notes:
1. May 16 5th/6th Activity Night was cancelled due to the lack of BOE approved lifeguards.
The PTSO offers you many opportunities to become involved. We welcome your input and support.
