~E-mail vote (28=yes) to increase Camp Inventions annual funding from $250 to $400 and was
added to the Budget.
~PTSO student volunteer list was established to track volunteers and aid scholarship selection.
~Grand Friends Day 2006 has been cancelled due to a vote by the Elementary School faculty.
~Discussion was made as to how to reincorporate this event back into the program. Suggestions
included 1) combining Art Show with Grand Friends Day (GFD) with teachers opening classrooms; 2)
GFD with visitors having lunch with students, perhaps with different grade levels having their guest on
a different day (i.e. Monday - Kindergarten, etc.), but this would require an RSVP and coordination
with food service; 3) a GFD Tea Party in the afternoon in the classroom, perhaps in conjunction with
Valentine's Day Party. Decision/Outcome: 1) Christy Evanek will discuss it with the ES faculty and get
their opinions as to why is has been cancelled, specifically the major issues. 2) Cathy Nelson will
discuss options with Principal Earlene Carr.
~Sponsor guidelines will further detailed by Cathy Nelson and June Losurdo will meet in September.
Sponsors may be recognized with a thank you in the District Bulletin and special advertising.
~The Lansingstar.com (a local online newspaper) is planning a membership drive and a donation
plan for October, giving the PTSO 25 cents for each member that completes their free registration.

District Bulletin Issues- Do we need to continually thank volunteers monthly? The answer was “yes”

and space issues.
