Lansing Central School PTSO Meeting, November 7th, 2005 (approved 12/5/05)

Minutes from last meeting approved.
Introduction of Mark Lewis, new Superintendent.
Treasurer’s Report: Patti Dean reported a balance of $20,549.18 in the checking account and
$3231.12 in the savings account. Patti will be revising the Book fair profit numbers.
Membership Report: Katrina Overton reported Lifetime 38, Five year 60, Annual 187, Total of 285
members.
Scrip Report: Tricia Thomas (not present) reported to board that she is doing mailing to all schools in
report cards.
FYI’s: PTSO web site and email address (www.lansingptso.com & landsingptso@yahoo.com) should be
added to all fliers, with copies of fliers emailed to Cathy for posting to the web and email District Bulletin
fliers to Cathy.
President’s Report:
LansingStar.com gave $.25 for each new registration in October. 133 registrations = $33.25
School Tiles Cathy reported that the money was given for materials to install. We are needing to contact
installer to see if we can facilitate installation.
Old Business:
Board of Education Dinner (Dorothy Debbie & Kendall Adams) has scheduled for November 14th.
She is waiting for a set time and location. Anne Miller will send bill to PTSO.
Middle School Activity Night (Amy Boardman) reported that the building request form was redone for
the new rescheduled date (Nov. 18) and they are all set with volunteers.
Note: Soccer balls need to be brought to Act. Nights at the Rink/Field (none provided); usually Lucan
Hibbard brings, but Adam Heck or Mr. Meade could also bring them from the MS.
Note: Skating doesn't start till 7:30 p.m., so need to keep kids busy till ice opens.
Thanksgiving Feast (June Losurdo) that they are ready to make reminder phone calls to volunteers.
Create-A-Craft (Amy Boardman) reported that they are still getting supplies and searching for ideas
from craft sets that they will be ordering. Budget set for $500.
New Business:
Sweatshirt Order Report (Amy Boardman) had 231 orders with a gross of $2,687 and a profit of
$934. Distribution of most sweatshirts will be done at the Thanksgiving Feast.
Cherrydale Distribution (Deb Cretney) is seeking volunteers for distribution of order on November
14th between 2-6:45 p.m.
Roller Skating at Reva (Kristin Burt) is scheduled for January 21st. A sign-up form/reminder will be
posted in the District Bulletin.
Greek Peak (Lisa Oltz/Stephanie Zerelli) is scheduled for February 5th. A sign-up form/reminder will be
posted in the District Bulletin.
Spaghetti Dinner (Amy Anderson) is being advertised in the District Bulletin to save the date.
Safe Homes Directory (Nancy Gifft) reported that the directory is ready to go to print from BOCES.
The District Office is reluctant to pay for the printing, Patti Dean will check on amount spent in the past
on this.
March Book Fair Cathy Nelson has an idea of having an evening book fair combined with the selling of
PTSO merchandise. We would sell beanies, sweatshirts, etc.
Decision/Outcome: Two scooters, which were given to us through the selling of cookie dough, will be
given to the elementary counselor to distribute for Christmas items via the Christmas "elf". Cathy will
look into if we can also give helmets with the scooters.
